Liability and physical damage
On the road, for motorhomes and while towing a trailer.
An RV is a vehicle when it is moving and a home when it is parked. The policy has to handle both.
RV insurance combines auto and property exposures. Motorhomes need liability and physical damage like any vehicle, but they also carry contents, attached equipment and a liability exposure while parked at a site — and full-time RV living changes the requirements again.
If the RV is your primary residence, the policy needs a full-timer endorsement providing the personal liability and contents cover a homeowners policy would otherwise give you. Standard RV policies assume recreational use and fall short.
Vacation or campsite liability covers incidents at the pitch while the RV is set up and stationary. Towable trailers also need their own arrangement, since the towing vehicle's policy generally covers liability while towing but not the trailer itself.

An endorsement for people who live in their RV rather than using it recreationally. It provides the personal liability and contents cover a homeowners policy would normally give, which a standard RV policy does not.
Campsite or vacation liability covers incidents while parked and set up. Standard vehicle liability applies to driving, so this is a separate part of the policy worth confirming.
Homeowners policies cover small boats to a token limit. Anything with a real engine needs its own policy.
